Karahi & Curries
Cooked in the wok, simmered low, finished with fresh ginger and green chilli — our karahi and curries are the soul of a Karachi kitchen. Chicken karahi, goat karahi, beef nihari and more, 100% Zabiha Halal.
The karahi — a heavy wok-like pan — gives this whole category its name and its character. Tomatoes, ginger, green chilli and meat cook down hard and fast until the masala clings to every piece. It's a dish meant to be torn into with fresh naan, and it's one of the truest tests of a Pakistani kitchen. Ours holds up to the Devon Avenue standard.
Beyond karahi, this is where you'll find the slow-cooked icons: beef nihari, the legendary breakfast-into-anytime stew of braised shank in deep, aromatic gravy; rich, velvety butter chicken; creamy korma; fiery Chicken 65; and vegetarian options like palak paneer and tadka daal. Pair any of them with our tandoor breads. All 100% Zabiha Halal, no alcohol, ever.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is nihari?
Nihari is a slow-braised beef shank stew in a rich, spiced gravy — originally a Pakistani breakfast classic. Ours is available as a lunch portion or a full entree portion with extra meat.
Do you have vegetarian curries?
Yes — palak paneer, tadka daal and mix sabzi are all vegetarian, cooked separately from the meat dishes.
What bread goes best with karahi?
Fresh tandoori naan or garlic naan. You'll find our full bread lineup on the main menu at karachichaathouse.com/menu.
